I only started playing bass later in life, and I have chosen to do it just for my own enjoyment, without joining a band or playing live.

Basschat, Europe's largest online discussion forum for electric and double bass players: I take care of social media, PR and membership activities, manage their Twitter account, and set up events on their Facebook page.
Before Covid, I used to write a photoblog about the London Bass Guitar Show
every year. I'm looking forward to being able to do that again one day, if and when the show re-appears on the scene.
I run the PR and social media presence of London-based Rock 'n' Roll three-piece Damo And The Dynamites
and pub-rock covers band
The Junkyard Dogs and often also help out other bands. I create band posters, flyers and other marketing material in Photoshop, deal with venues and radios, and liaise with them and the fans on social media.
In the last few years I've been the Dogs' and the Dynamites' live sound engineer too. We have a wireless PA desk operated via a tablet and a choice of speakers and power amps; we can tailor the PA system to each venue, and put the whole band through the PA, with the backline just loud enough for the band to hear themselves and each other.
While I'm still some way from being able to engineer the London O2, at least I can make our bands sound great in small venues and at your average local drinking hole
– indoors or outdoors.
